I was having a major issue with balancing my camera rig. The Red Rock Micro tripod mount location is all the way to the back of the base plate. I had my buddies at work engineer, machine and weld a new base plate that mounts directly to the original piece while still allowing me to get the follow focus for adjustments. Impressive what these guys can do… Maye we should market and sell this piece… or just design a whole system and get after it!
Yesterday I received the MicroX adapter for my M2 rig… WOW!!! OK, the Micro X flips the image upright in the camera. Before this addition to the M2 my images were upside down which really brings all sorts of challenges to the table. The MicroX not only flips the image it actually produces a much sharper image. Here’s a couple updated images and a short clip as well.
I read a post this morning about all of the new technology that’s just hit the “Video” market. The one major addition to the industry is the Canon 5D Mark II. The Mark II is a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera) that also happens to shoot 1080p Full HD video. For those of us that have been in the game for a while we know how hard it’s been to capture the “Film Look” you see in major motion pictures with a video camera.
I’m all in to purchase the 5D Mark II, but I’m a photographer and own a 5D so, of course, I’m going to upgrade one way or another. I believe in what both Canon (5D Mark II) and Nikon (D90) are doing in this industry and it’s flipping it upside down!!!
I’m personally using a 35mm Adapter from Red Rock Micro. Here’s a few shots of my current rig, I’ll be posting images of my new HD rig when I… well, when I get one :)
Now, go buy one and make some movies!!! Ones that don’t suck!
Today I had the pleasure of shooting promotional photos of the talent that makes up Intake Studios. If you are unaware, I started my career at Full Sail University where I studied film. It’s great to see a company in the Midwest creating such great media on a national level. In short… WORD!
I had the privilege of playing with my brother and future brother-in-law (the worship leader at Grace Point Church) last Sunday. They had the video crew and audio running into the board. Turned out great! Let me know what you think!!!
