New Services – New Prices

November 30th, 2011

So after a massive hiatus I’m back! Well, more like, “we’re” back. There’s been some restructuring and soul searching around Justin Cary Photography. A new year is coming up and we’re starting over completely. We had decided to change our name and start from scratch but quickly scratched that idea. So, instead, we’re offering more.

Some of you may know that Justin is a Director of Photography… This typically refers to the Motion Picture industry and that’s where he’s been… shooting moving images, not stills. Justin has a deep passion for film, both still images and moving images. We’ve finally figured out our main purpose and that’s to capture lasting imagery that will live on for your great grandkids to enjoy. Yes, that’s creepy to think, you’re all going to be really old someday :( That is, if 2012 doesn’t take us all… Just Kidding.

So here it is. We are now booking Wedding and Portrait Sessions. That much has been true throughout the years. What we’re offering now, that we didn’t before, is the MOTION picture services. We don’t capture stale stagnant imagery in our still work so don’t expect us to do it for your moving images either.

What’s so unique about offering video services you ask??? Well let us tell you.

You may receive your wedding as a finished video, but it DOES NOT start there. Justin specializes in shooting film… Real celluloid film. If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing your parents in motion as youngsters then you probably know what we’re talking about. Super 8 film… Little tiny frames that capture your special day in a way video cannot touch. There’s something about film, small gauges especially, that captures life in a way that has that nostalgic look and feel. It’s classic and will last forever. Don’t get stuck with a team of 4 videographers dressed in black, wearing headsets capturing your day like a high school football game! Give it some style. Here’s an example of modern Super 8.

Please give us a call at 316.304.4599 or shoot us an Email.

Hope to work with you someday soon!

Wittich + Klaver Wedding Part One

October 12th, 2010

Aww, blogging. What’s that? It’s been quite some time… Just thought I’d share some recent wedding photos with you all. Hope to maybe jump on the social bandwagon again soon. It’s a lot of work, for sure. I’m running out of time so I’m going to cover this wedding in two blog posts. As always, enjoy.

I was cruising the web and stopped by one of my favorite blogs, ISO50, and found this little gold nugget.  I’ve been frustrated about my design and this guy says it best.  I know what I want it to look like it’s just falling a little short… don’t give up, do a lot of work and I’ll get there.  DUH!!!!

Jesse + Ashleigh Marks

September 7th, 2009

Ahh, 3:30am – to 1:00am.  My sister and I woke up early to drive out to Parsons, KS for a BEAUTIFUL wedding.  Last December I had the pleasure of shooting Ashleigh’s (twin) sister Megan’s wedding in Lawrence so it was awesome to see a lot of the same friendly faces.  Ashleigh’s mother even greeted me with a Diet Mountain Dew in the morning… totally impressed and blown away that she even remembered!!!

The wedding was gorgeous.  Here are just a few of the photos we captured.  I’ll be posting many more on my website this week.  As always… ENJOY!!!

Sleiman + Megan 12.19.08

December 22nd, 2008

WOW!!!!  That’s all I really have to say.  Thanks to everyone that was a part of Sleiman and Megan’s wedding.  Everyone was so nice and accommodating.  The wedding was absolutely beautiful!  That Friday morning on the 19th my sister Jessica and I headed up to Lawrence, KS at about 6:30am.  We arrived at the hair salon at 8:30 just in time to get the day started… and the rest is history!  I will write a bit more about what went on during the day, but I’m tired and excited that Kayla wants to watch a war movie tonight, sweeeeeet!  Enjoy!!!

I really don’t like categorizing weddings on my blog as I never know who’s reading but this wedding was absolutely gorgeous! Every little detail was covered. Lovely wedding, lovely people…. I’ll be shooting in KC more often!!! Enjoy!

How cool is it to have your name up on a marquee that sits right next door to the “Wicked” musical entrance? What an amazing reception hall!!!

Chris + Kate – 04.19.07

May 8th, 2008

Oh yes… another wedding, and what a lovely wedding it was. Not much to say, used some different techniques and really opened up my lenses. 99% of this wedding was shot at 2.8 and below. Enjoy!

Nothing quite compares to a hot smelly Trolly, but the red inner walls were amazing to shoot against. I love the contrast… beats a limo anyday!

The DJ at this particular wedding catered to the photographer in a different way than usual… LIGHT! Most DJ’s give me the layout of the night and what they’re going to do but don’t ever consider to ask me for the one thing that can make or break my reception experience. Kudos Mr. DJ!!! Just a couple grungy effects… A little juxtaposition never hurt.

Wine glasses full of the yum yum. I was walking by the table as the waitress was setting them up. I was blown away by her attention to detail. She was spacing the glasses so perfect I had to get some shots.
