New Services – New Prices

November 30th, 2011

So after a massive hiatus I’m back! Well, more like, “we’re” back. There’s been some restructuring and soul searching around Justin Cary Photography. A new year is coming up and we’re starting over completely. We had decided to change our name and start from scratch but quickly scratched that idea. So, instead, we’re offering more.

Some of you may know that Justin is a Director of Photography… This typically refers to the Motion Picture industry and that’s where he’s been… shooting moving images, not stills. Justin has a deep passion for film, both still images and moving images. We’ve finally figured out our main purpose and that’s to capture lasting imagery that will live on for your great grandkids to enjoy. Yes, that’s creepy to think, you’re all going to be really old someday :( That is, if 2012 doesn’t take us all… Just Kidding.

So here it is. We are now booking Wedding and Portrait Sessions. That much has been true throughout the years. What we’re offering now, that we didn’t before, is the MOTION picture services. We don’t capture stale stagnant imagery in our still work so don’t expect us to do it for your moving images either.

What’s so unique about offering video services you ask??? Well let us tell you.

You may receive your wedding as a finished video, but it DOES NOT start there. Justin specializes in shooting film… Real celluloid film. If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing your parents in motion as youngsters then you probably know what we’re talking about. Super 8 film… Little tiny frames that capture your special day in a way video cannot touch. There’s something about film, small gauges especially, that captures life in a way that has that nostalgic look and feel. It’s classic and will last forever. Don’t get stuck with a team of 4 videographers dressed in black, wearing headsets capturing your day like a high school football game! Give it some style. Here’s an example of modern Super 8.

Please give us a call at 316.304.4599 or shoot us an Email.

Hope to work with you someday soon!

Just a Glance of an Upcoming Project

December 7th, 2009

I have been challenging myself to help others my whole life.  I hope that’s come across every now again.  I know a couple of people that are so crazy protective about what they know if drives me nuts!!!  Let go of that knowledge, help others, you can’t take it with you when you DIE!!!  So, with that being said.  I’m starting a photography school.  A real one, with books, well, hand outs and stuff.

I want to pass on my knowledge of photography with you!  This is where is begins.  It will no doubt be one of the best in town as I have an EXCELLENT team of people working with me but it will also be affordable.

I’ll keep you posted. Please contact me if you are interested.  I’m scheduling dates to be held in Wichita and have a fairly full class as it is.  I want to be able to have one on one time with each of you so I’ll be keeping the class under 10 students.

A Fresh Start

December 7th, 2009

A blog post with NO images… WHAT!!!!!  Are you crazy?

Yes.  I’ve been crazy for the last 27 years of my life.  I’m here to ask for your help.  Obviously I get traffic on my blog.  There are ways for website owners to see this.  I hardly get any response and that’s not what I want.  Not on my blog silly… In the world around you.  Some of you, most of you, that read this blog are very close to me.  I need your help to grow my business.  It’s plain to see that I shoot weddings, portraits, commercial, blah blah blah.  Without my friends and family spreading the word of my work I’m nothing!  You’ve all done a great job this far and I can’t thank you enough for your support… especially my pops!

The time has come.  I am officially going to be in the phone book… Scary, never know what you’re gonna get from the Yellow Pages.  I’m looking into 360wichita.com and will soon be up and running with them.  I’m not sure what other kinds of marketing efforts to pursue.  That’s where word of mouth comes in.

I’ve decided to take my talent mainstream.  So bring on the phone calls and the business.  I have 4 mouths to feed… and mine is last on the totem pole… even under the dog :-) – OK, so, 5 mouths to feed.

God has blessed me with a gift… Yes, my eye, but all of you as well.

Here’s to many drinks with all of you!!!  Hopefully all on me!  Cheers!

Flickr & Vimeo

June 5th, 2009

I’ve decided to go back to Flickr… why?  It seems like a good idea to get more of my images out there.  It’s so difficult to sift through images to put on the website.  I need to do a flush and fill with new images but I have to find the time for that.  In the meantime you’ll see links at the bottom left hand corner of my site that will lead you to my social networking sites.  I’ve also put a Vimeo link to share my videos.  I hope to have photography tutorial videos soon… just need to find someone to shoot them!

Enjoy!!!

For the Aspiring Photographer… errr, Videographer?

Mic Checka 1… 2… 1… 2…

December 9th, 2008

Oh yes, noone can see this but me… well, technically you might be able to find it in cyberspace.  This will soon be home to the ranting and ravings of me, Justin Cary.  I’m a photographer and designer.  I am the proud owner of a fictitious company called Pixelous Design.  Fictitious for now anyway.  I am teaming up with a very very talented Web Programmer, Bill Knechtel of endikos.com fame, to form a duo that will bring professional media to the Wichita area.  We do have a building, it’s a shell, but it’s a building nontheless.  Soon there will be apples, photoshops and aptanas flying around the inside of an incredibly designed space.  We will keep you updated with photos and stories of making this dream come true.  In the meantime I am going to try my best to help anyone who’s willing to listen with photography and design.  Feel free to drop me an email and ask any questions you might have.  No question is a stupid question… except the one that isn’t asked… I think that’s how that goes.  Peace and stay tuned.
