Killer Portrait Session! Thanks Janet!

March 30th, 2009

So a few weeks ago Janet and I soared out to uncharted territories to find new locations to shoot Senior photos.  I can’t help but think that mine look just like everyone else in Wichita.  I was perusing a site the other day of a local photographer and saw my image, same location, same crop, same chair… everything but the subject.  I’m not saying that the photographer has even seen my image but it happens all the time.  They probably look at my site and say, “Hey, he ripped off my photo”… but don’t flatter yourself, I try and keep my head level by saying every photographer in Wichita is equally creative.  Anywho, found some great spots and I’m not done.  I have a whole new outlook on outdoor portraits now.  Can’t wait for my next session to explore some more!

Some really good friends of mine are on tour and stopped in Wichita to play a show for their family and friends.  They are an amazing band and an amazing group of guys!  Cruise by iTunes and pick up their album “Magnolia Road”, you won’t regret it!!!  Here’s a couple of shots from last night.

Portrait Package A

March 12th, 2009

So, I don’t do a lot of Senior sessions… I think it has to do with the look you get from other photographers when you say, I shoot seniors.  For the ones that are, “too good” for it, they take your creativity away as soon as you say that you shoot seniors.  I love it… it gives me an opportunity to work with all sorts of kids and I remember my senior photos.  A family friend snapped 1 roll of film (24 frames) and I had one photo… For me that was fine but for today’s seniors it doesn’t fly.  My pricing is on my website but I wanted to show you what Package A actually looks like, it’s a lot of photos!!!  And they are super High Quality!

Every image, 5×7 and larger, is mounted on a single weight backer board that supports the image and gives it that professional look and feel.  The 4×6’s are professional prints, not Walmart prints.  They are chemically printed, not printed on an inkjet.  I’m only offering up this information because I’ve been asked :-)

If you’re a senior, gimme a call.  We’ll have fun and get fun images.  I’m down for whatever and will drive anywhere if you have a location that you really want to shoot in.  I love shooting in new places!  Let me know if you wanna have a good time and get some images that truly reflect who you are.

A good friend of mine asked me to draw up a logo for a sermon series at church coming up after the Easter season.  It was fun… Thought I’d share.

Wonderful Shoot!!!

March 8th, 2009

I just want to say thanks to everyone that made today’s shoot possible…  It’s refreshing to get a team of people that work well together and that’s what went down today.  Here’s a little sample, you’ll have to pick up a copy of the April Splurge Magazine to see the rest!

17″ Mac Book Pro Battery :-(

March 4th, 2009

The other day, after a long day of work and shooting I sat down on the couch to work some more.  I went to check the pony’s (power) on the battery and noticed it was bulging like crazy and not sitting flush with bottom of the computer.  After evaluating the situation I found that this happens frequently with these computers… Bad Apple!  Oh well, for all the things you do right I’ll let this slide.  Here’s a photo… crazyness.
